Annual Report 2022-2023

Thank you to everyone for all your support and commitment to Quilts of Valour Australia ® this year.  We especially acknowledge the hard work of so many.

Our charity is certainly growing. We have over 80 representatives around Australia.

This year we welcomed 23 new representatives. It is great to have more areas of Australia covered for awarding quilts.

Many amazing quilts have been made and awarded all around Australia.

Donated quilts are coming in to QOVA from various quilting clubs and individuals in different states and we are also very grateful for these donations.

Quilts of Valour Australia would like to acknowledge the generous monetary donations we have received. This generosity has really helped with the purchase of materials and wadding. It has meant we could sometimes provide fabric for quilters to complete the quilts.

We would like to acknowledge a project grant from Freemasons Foundation Victoria for $6000. It was a grant to facilitate a project aimed at addressing veterans in a particular area of Victoria.

We Welcomed Karen Black onto our Committee. Karen brings enthusiasm and skills. Thank you, Karen, for the quilts you have finished for us and also for your quilting skills.

Sadly our beloved member Dorothy Meadows OAM passed away. Dorothy was at our very first meeting held at Harkaway on 24th February 2012. We valued Dorothy’s cheerful presence and wealth of knowledge.

This past year we changed the wording of our mission statement to be more inclusive of veterans who were affected their service but not deployed.

Our Mission statement now reads.

Quilts of Valour Australia aims to award quilts to Veterans, Service Personnel of the Australian Defence Force and our Allies as well as immediate family of Veterans and Defence Personnel who have passed. These awards are in recognition of their Service, Sacrifice and Valour for their country.

We have a new banner Design – Thank you to Rosanne Croker for the graphics.

Charity logo tick was approved for QUILTS OF Valour Australia and added to our latest brochures.

Thank you to all who support Quilts of Valour Australia for your generosity and time to help Quilts of Valour grow and reach more veterans.
